[Cover Story] This year's Gosh Creative Arts Camp explored the theme "Seen or Unseen?", inviting high school students to reflect on what truly deserves to be seen—public recognition or their authentic selves.

"Many performers long to be seen, yet also feel unworthy of being seen," says camp founder and acclaimed film director Sylvia Chang. She believes this tension resonates with many young people today.

Having entered the arts without formal training herself, Chang designed the eight-day camp as participants’ first encounter with artistic practice. Through intensive workshops, collaborative creation, rehearsals, and shared living, participants found a safe space to explore creativity, build confidence, and discover themselves. Read more.

[The Alliance Cultural Foundation] Now in its 13th year, the Huatung Youth Choir Camp brought together 114 students from eastern Taiwan, guided by 69 university and high school volunteers during a 13-day immersive program.

Inspired by the musical Wicked, this year's curriculum encouraged participants to examine prejudice and stereotypes through music, theater, and discussion. The camp culminated in a performance of 17 English songs before nearly 300 audience members, celebrating not only musical achievement but also empathy, confidence, and mutual trust. [The Alliance Cultural Foundation] The Huatung English and Arts Camp (HEAC) brought together 100 students from Hualien and Taitung with volunteers from Taipei American School, Junyi alumni, and local high school students.

Through English, science, art, and residential life, participants learned independence, respect, and collaboration, while volunteers gained a deeper understanding of education and service. Although the camp lasted only one week, many participants and volunteers continued to stay connected long after it ended. Watch the graduation video.

[Paul Chiang Arts and Cultural Foundation] More than 30 teachers from across Taiwan joined the second Summer Teacher Training Workshop at the Paul Chiang Art Center.

Beginning with personal observation and artistic experience, participants developed creative classroom approaches under the guidance of experienced educators. The workshop concluded with lesson sharing inspired by art, nature, and reflection.

On the opening day, Art Center’s co-founder, Stanley Yen and artist Paul Chiang surprised participants with a simple message: "You are all sowers of beauty." (See more photos on Facebook | Instagram)

[Junyi School of Innovation] This summer, 54 Junyi high school students completed internships at 18 organizations across hospitality, architecture, the arts, education, healthcare, and administration.

By working alongside professionals, students developed practical skills, confidence, and a clearer understanding of their future aspirations. Whether welcoming visitors at the Paul Chiang Art Center or supporting patients at a local clinic, they discovered that initiative, responsibility, and curiosity are among the most valuable lessons the workplace can offer.
