By 2016, the Department of Industrial Design at Shih Chien University had hosted the summer camp for twelve years. Each year, the camp aims to give high school students from across the country who are interested in industrial design a deeper understanding of the field. Through professional lectures, experience sharing, and hands-on product design, students learn about the design process from initial concepts to final products, gaining insight into the thoughts of industrial professionals.

In 2016 and 2017, in collaboration with the Alliance Cultural Foundation, 15 spots were provided for students from Hualien and Taitung, with the foundation covering the costs. The goal was to inspire creative thinking in the students from these regions and broaden their learning horizons in the field of design through diverse course planning and experiential learning at the camp.
