Business Advisory
Hualien and Taitung represent the last pristine areas in Taiwan, and their indigenous cultures are invaluable resources. Nonetheless, a significant number of young people from these regions are compelled to leave their hometowns in search of work opportunities in the city. Hence, the Alliance Cultural Foundation's (ACF) mission is to 'preserve a path for those who return home.'
When we began assisting tribal communities, we identified young adults seeking employment who often had to leave their communities resulting in predominantly elderly and child populations in the tribes, res and a trend of intergenerational care. To address this issue, ACF immersed the tribes, listened to their needs, and provided timely resources. Through initiatives like tribal support, homestay management training, tribal tourism integration, and international talent development. This approach created local jobs, restoring communities' and individuals' confidence and dignity.
Our goal was to offer a sustainable 'path back home' for youth, whether returning or staying in their hometowns. From Cotton & Hemp House to Pisilian Village, Sazasa Tribal Community, ACF helped promising local industries shine.
Chairman Yan Changshou has always believed that the indigenous cultural experience should go beyond traditional attire and dances. It should involve guiding travelers through the mountains and by the sea to immerse themselves in the Indigenous wisdom of the land. This inclusive approach welcomes all travelers to share in the region's culture, ecology, life, and storytelling. By harnessing the energy of local youth, Taitung is gradually evolving in its own distinctive way. Increasingly, young people from Hualien and Taitung are discovering a path back to their hometowns and compelling reasons to remain, benefiting both themselves and future generations of their tribes.
