Committed Grants

The ACF supports various initiatives in education, tourism, and arts and culture to cultivate future talents in Hualien and Taitung. We are sponsoring and funding the following programs to strive for sustainability in these regions:

Bulareyaung Dance Company:
Bulareyaung believes that "the tribe is the most beautiful theatre for the dance company, and ife to bring the dancers back to the tribe to perform every year possible, I hope that the elderly, the youth, and children can watch the performances near their homes." Since its inception in 2015, the company has aimed to visit all 55 traditional Indigenous townships before its tenth anniversary in 2025. This vision and goal gave birth to the "Dance Home — Tribal Tour."

Taitung Echo Orchestra:
Due to the pandemic in 2021, many of the Alliance's summer camps could not be held. Thus, the annual funds were redirected to support the Taitung Echo Orchestra's cultural promotional projects. In 2022, musicians were invited to remote schools in Taitung for a "Music Workshop," students from Taitung schools were invited to concerts held at Le Ark.

Taiwan Outrigger Canoe Club (TOCC):
Taiwan is home to various water activities as an island nation, but the Pacific Polynesian-influenced Outrigger Canoe is relatively unknown. Yvonne, a lover of water activities, founded the "Taiwan Outrigger Canoe Club" (TOCC) and the "Taiwan Outrigger Canoe Voyaging Society" (TOCVS) in Taitung with a dream of making Taitung a hub for the revival of Taiwan's marine culture.

Hunter School:
Located in the Paiwan tribe of Raraulan in Taimali, Taitung, the Hunter School was founded in 2004 by Paiwan writer Sakinu. It is dedicated to rediscovering a philosophy of life in harmony with nature, ecological wisdom, and land ethics. A fire in May 2019 devastated the school, but with help from various parties, Sakinu and his team faced the disaster head-on and rebuilt a welcoming multi-functional site.

Cixin Waldorf School:
Established in 2019, the Cixin Waldorf School deeply understands that social and family structures are changing, greatly impacting family lifestyles and parenting. Through various "intergenerational education" programs, the foundation hopes to facilitate interaction and integration between generations, reconnect the elderly with local school communities, restore the value of seniors, and help children reclaim traditional lives in harmony with nature.

The Sharestart Education Foundation:
From 2016 to 2020, the Alliance Cultural Foundation and the Cheng Zhi Education Foundation provided administrative, human resources, and technical support to The Sharestart Method teaching community. In August 2020, the Sharestart Education Foundation was officially established, with continued resource introduction and partial funding from the Alliance to support its stable and sustainable development.

Education Support for Taiwan:
While accompanying remote schools, Education Support for Taiwan discovered challenges faced by "non-certified substitute teachers," who, without formal teacher training, face uncertainties in teaching expertise, classroom management, administrative duties, and career development. Starting in 2021 in Taitung, the "Taitung Non-Certified Substitute Teacher Support Program" was piloted, and in 2022, it was expanded to allow non-certified teachers from all over Taiwan to register and participate.
