History

In the summer of 2014, the Harvest365 Platform and the Alliance Cultural Foundation jointly organized the Hualien and Taitung Youth Choir Music Camp to inspire children's talents, broaden their musical horizons, and ignite a passion for choral arts. Since then, it has been held annually in July.

The camp has cultivated a group of outstanding volunteers from universities across Taiwan, who, through the joint preparation of activities each year, have built deep friendships and become supportive partners. In addition to university volunteers, a new group introduced in 2017, the Counselor In Training (CIT), invites high school students who have previously participated in the music camp to return. During the camp, they participate in a series of volunteer training courses and assist with camp activities, fostering a sense of responsibility and a spirit of service and giving back, with the hope of nurturing future camp volunteers.

Goals

  1. To cultivate the spirit of volunteer service among university students, and to enhance their leadership and camp organization skills through group division of labor, proposal making, and communication.

  2. Through a comprehensive Volunteers-in-training program, high school students who have previously participated in the music camp are given the opportunity to return. This allows them to give back in various ways to the camp that contributed to their growth. Additionally, it is hoped that they will return as university volunteers in the future, continuing the inspiration.

Participants

Volunteers: Recruit students from universities across Taiwan, totaling approximately 55 to 60 volunteers (the ideal ratio of university volunteers to participants is 1:3, adjusted based on the status of volunteer accompaniment during Buddy Time in previous years).

Volunteers In Training: Recruit 8 to 10 high school juniors and seniors who have previously participated in the music camp.
