In 2020, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum held the "Paul Chiang: Retrospective" exhibition, providing a comprehensive overview of Chiang's creative endeavor spanning over half a century. In 2022, the "Paul Chiang Solo Exhibition 2022" was launched at the Taitung Art Museum, curated by Mr. Jason Chia-Hua Chi, who is both an architect and an artist. The exhibition focuses on the shift in Chiang's creative direction after he moved to Taitung.

Despite being surrounded by the natural landscapes of Taitung during the past two years of pandemic and conflict, Chiang remained deeply concerned with worldly affairs, attempting to question and respond through art. There was also significant development in his choice of materials and techniques.

"In the early mornings of the construction of the Paul Chiang Art Center, Paul would patrol the rubble at the construction site daily, picking up discarded materials. He would then find a chair to sit on and either contemplate or face the ocean. He marveled at the sun marks on the plastic corrugated boards and the beautiful rust spots on the paint containers in his studio. In the past, his canvases bore the marks of refinement and deep thought; now, he chooses different material, but the same transformation from within." — Curator Jason Chia-Hua Chi

"Perish" by Paul Chiang

April 2022, the film crew of Insularis Creative arrived at Paul Chiang’s Jinzun studio. Before leaving for the studio, crew members imagined the construction site of the Paul Chiang Art Center adjacent to his temporary outdoor studio to be bounded by dust and noise.
